Preview: Alfreton Town v Moors

We turn the focus back on the Emirates FA Cup with a full and in-depth preview of Saturday’s trip to face Alfreton Town at The Impact Arena.

Alfreton Town v Spennymoor Town
Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying
Saturday 12th October 2024, 3pm
The Impact Arena

The Opposition
Alfreton Town have enjoyed an excellent start to the new campaign, and they sit fifth in National League North ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tussle with Moors.

Billy Heath’s side suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat at Southport on the opening day but have not lost any of their subsequent nine outings in the league to drive up the table.

Like Moors, The Reds boast a superb home record, and you have to go all the way back to last November to find their last 90-minute defeat at The Impact Arena.

Alfreton produced a professional performance to see off Biggleswade Town 6-0 in the last round on Tuesday evening, having got past Spalding United in Second Round Qualifying.

Previous Meeting
Both games between the sides in National League North last term went with home advantage, Moors running out 2-1 winners at The Brewery Field in March before going down 2-1 at The Impact Arena the following month.

Match Officials
The man in the middle for Saturday’s FA Cup tie will be Neil Pratt, and he will be assisted by Minesh Gupta and James Cliffe. Joshua Williams takes on Fourth Official duties.

Competition Rules
Both sides are permitted to name seven substitutes for Saturday’s FA Cup tie, of which five can be used at any time throughout the 90 minutes.

If the game is all-square at 90 minutes, then the tie will go to a replay which will be played at The Brewery Field on Tuesday 15th October (7.45pm kick-off).

Tickets
Saturday’s cup tie is segregated, but Moors fans can opt to buy tickets online in advance for Saturday’s game or pay by cash on the turnstiles prior to kick-off on the day.
