Burlace Joins Bishop Auckland On Loan

Moors defender Dane Burlace has joined Bishop Auckland on a one-month loan deal.

The 22-year-old joined the Club from Bishops during the summer but suffered a setback in pre-season when he fractured his cheekbone in our friendly at Consett.

Burlace returned to fitness at the beginning of the month and has been part of Moors’ recent matchday squads and played in our Durham Challenge Cup win over Chester-le-Street United.

However, boss Graeme Lee has now given the green light for the full-back to return to his former club on loan in order to play more regularly and build his match sharpness.

“Dane was really unlucky to pick up such a nasty injury in pre-season and it’s knocked him back a little,” Lee explained.

“He’s worked ever so hard to get back to fitness but it’s clear that he now needs to get some more time on the pitch and this loan move will be ideal for him.

“We’ll be able to keep a close eye on him while he’s with Bishops and hopefully he can go there and play some regular football and do really well.”

Burlace will go straight into contention to feature for Bishop Auckland when they play host to Dunston UTS in the Northern Premier League East Division on Tuesday night.
