Fans of both Spennymoor and Curzon Ashton came together on Saturday to pay a solemn tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.
A short service took place ahead of kick-off in our weekend National League North fixture and we were honoured to once again be joined by members of 8th Battalion The Rifles.
Moors’ Managing Director and Curzon Ashton Chairman John Clayton were joined by Major Bob Towers in laying wreaths in the centre circle to begin the Remembrance Day activity.
Abigail Davison of Spennymoor Town Band then played The Last Post before everyone inside The Brewery Field observed an impeccable minute’s silence.
On Sunday, Moors Ladies also paid their own respects when wreaths were laid on the pitch ahead of kick-off in their game against Chester-le-Street Town and a minute’s silence was observed.
We would like to thank all of those who have participated in our Remembrance Day tributes over the weekend and Club Photographer David Nelson for capturing these great images.
