We turn our focus on to the Boxing Day action with a comprehensive preview of South Shields’ National League North visit to The Brewery Field.
Spennymoor Town v South Shields
National League North
Thursday 26th December 2024, 3pm
The Brewery Field
The Opposition
South Shields nudged themselves back within a couple of points of the play-off places with a comfortable 2-0 win over Marine at 1st Cloud Arena on Saturday.
Elliott Dickman’s side have been in good form in recent weeks and arrive at The Brewery Field on the back of a run which has seen them win four out of their last six games.
The Mariners have also been lethal in front of goal during that time and have smashed five past Farsley Celtic, four past Alfreton Town and an astonishing seven past Rushall Olympic.
They came close to finishing inside the top seven during their first season in National League North last term, now they have their focus set on achieving that goal in 2024/25.
Previous Meeting
Moors knocked South Shields out of the FA Trophy little over a month ago with a battling 2-1 win over The Mariners at The Brewery Field.
Shields had actually taken an early lead through Will Jenkins, but Moors answered back with goals from Rob Ramshaw and Tom Allan to clinch their progress.
Match Officials
Richard Holmes will be the man in the middle at The Brewery Field on Boxing Day, and he will be assisted by Connor Scott and Andrew Daniels. Scott Henry is our Fourth Official.
