Preview: Brackley Town v Moors

We turn the spotlight on Saturday afternoon’s action with a full and in-depth preview of our National League North trip to St James Park.

Brackley Town v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Saturday 25th January 2025, 3pm
St James Park

The Opposition
Brackley Town will be hoping to bounce back quickly after falling to their first defeat of 2025 when they lost at title rivals Scunthorpe United on Tuesday evening.

Gavin Cowan’s side have charged into the race for automatic promotion after a sequence of four successive wins beginning back on Boxing Day.

The Saints now sit fourth in the National League North table but are only three points behind leaders Kidderminster Harriers as the contenders gear up for a captivating battle for top spot.

Having lost to Boston United in last season’s Play-Off Final, Brackley fans will hope that 2024/25 can finally be the year that fifth tier football finally arrives at St James Park.

Previous Meeting
Moors twice led but had to settle for a point when Brackley Town snatched a last-gasp equaliser during their visit to The Brewery Field in the opening month of the season.

Dan Rowe’s first goal for the Club had Graeme Lee’s men in front and Isaac Fletcher made it 2-1 after Danny Newton’s leveller, but Morgan Roberts fired home on 89 minutes to secure the visitors a share of the spoils.

Referee
Matthew Scholes will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s contest at St James Park, and he will be assisted by Thomas Green and Joseph Larkin. Lewis Mountain will be the Fourth Official.
