Drinkald Hits Treble In Moors Ladies Rout

Becca Drinkald smashed a brilliant hat-trick as Moors Ladies ran riot with a 7-1 thrashing of struggling Hull United in NERWFL Premier on Sunday afternoon.

The in-form midfielder’s treble was at the heart of a dominant performance from Brent Smithson’s side who remain in the hunt for a top four finish.

Moors were out of sight by half time against Hull, who are rooted to the bottom of the table and have only one victory to their name throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

Two apiece from Drinkald and Holly Doogan plus strikes from Kelly Garcia and Amy Richardson had Moors 6-0 up and in the driving seat by the break.

Drinkald then completed her perfect afternoon with a third goal in the second half while the hosts did manage to grab a crumb of comfort with a consolation strike of their own.

“We were ruthless when we needed to be and I am really pleased with the attitude the players showed,” admitted Smithson.

“I’ve said before that our target is to finish the season as strongly as possible and scoring seven goals away from home can only give us more confidence.

“Becca will take the limelight with her hat-trick, but it was a proper team performance out there and we’re going to need that to continue during the run-in now.”

Moors Ladies are back at The Brewery Field for a huge game on Sunday (2pm kick-off) when they host South Shields who sit one place and two points above them in the table.
