JASON AINSLEY

HEAD OF FOOTBALL

HEAD OF FOOTBALL

Jason Ainsley returned to the Spennymoor Town hotseat in September 2022 when he was
appointed as Interim Manager following the departure of Anthony Johnson and
Bernard Morley.

Following the appointment of Jamie Chandler as the new First Team Manager in May 2023, Ainsley reverted to his role as Head of Football where his vast experience will continue to be vital to the overall set-up.

Held in extremely high esteem by supporters, Ainsley stepped down as boss in December 2020 at the end of a glorious 14-year spell as boss.

During his first tenure, Ainsley oversaw nearly 800 games, won no fewer than 11 trophies and guided the Club to four promotions to reach National League North for the first time in its history.

He briefly returned to the helm on an interim basis in December 2021 following Tommy Miller’s departure and before the appointment of Johnson and Morley.

As well as managing Moors, Ainsley also played and captained the Club during various
spells beginning in 1989, whilst he also wore the colours of Hartlepool United, Blyth Spartans and Gateshead.
