Season ticket update as deadline looms

As the deadline for Spennymoor Town’s season ticket application approaches, the club are delighted with the current progress the campaign is making.

With four days left till the deadline, there has been a major increase in new supporter applications.

The club also received 25 season ticket applications during last night’s pre-season friendly at Stockton Town.

Still unsure about getting your season ticket? Here are seven reasons why following Spennymoor and non-league football is the future.

Spennymoor are about to begin their third season in the National League North after agonisingly missing out on promotion via the play-off system in May.

Only a penalty shoot-out loss denied Moors a place in the National League, one division below League Two and two behind Sunderland.

It’s a far cry from this time in 2013, just six years ago, when Moors were preparing for life in the Northern League Division One. Jason Ainsley steered his side to the title that season, subsequently commencing an era of promotions and success.

Tony Wilson, Managing Director of Spennymoor, is still hoping for more interest in the final few days of the campaign. He said: “We’re into the final week of season ticket applications.  We’ve done well so far, but we still need more people to buy-in.

If anyone is on the fence about whether to take the plunge, I’d urge them to come and join us on our journey at what has become the best value-for-money football club to support in the North East.

“We’ve done our part by improving the squad; investing heavily in the ground; and improving the match day experience.  It’s time for the football fans of Spennymoor, County Durham and the North East to do theirs and help propel this club onwards and upwards.”

Those still wishing to purchase a season ticket must submit and application by 9pm on Sunday 7th July.

Full details of season ticket sales will be released next week.

Jason Ainsley explains why you should follow Spennymoor Town in the 2019/20 season and beyond.
