Simply Spennymoor: Season Tickets 2022/23

Reconnect with football

Whether it’s multi-billion-pound finances; clubs owned for the wrong reasons; or players spending more time on Instagram than the training pitch, football is growing further away from supporters.

But not at Spennymoor Town.

Three years of investment in The Brewery Field have made a day out at The Moors one of the finest matchdays in non-league.

Record attendances in 2021/22 watched Spennymoor narrowly miss out on a play-off spot and Managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley are now preparing their first pre-season at the helm, with plenty of excitement ahead.

The club’s pricing strategy last season was a designed to give supporters the confidence to return post-pandemic and gave those who crave real football the chance to reconnect with the sport they love.

Brad Groves, Chief Executive of Spennymoor Town FC, said: “It shows just how far we’ve come that last season’s finish felt like falling short.

“Our points per game and key metrics improved as the season went on and the squad will benefit massively from a full pre-season with the new management team.

“Off the pitch, we are unrecognisable from when I took the club on over a decade ago.

“But, it is no surprise that we are attracting more people, considering the investment I have made in the ground and the matchday experience.

“Our two-year affordable football drive was designed to open up the opportunity for more people to attend and it certainly delivered thanks to heavily subsidised prices and our brilliant matchday offer.

“This has put pressure on the club financially, but it was pressure I was keen to absorb in order to show people what we have created and give them confidence in the safety of returning to The Brewery Field during the pandemic.

“I still passionately believe that Spennymoor Town should be one of the cheapest clubs to support in our league.  As such, our new bottom-quartile pricing structure delivers affordable football and reflects this belief.

“I am proud to launch our season tickets for 2022/23, which continue to make this club one of the cheapest to support in the National League North.

“Prices have increased from last season.  But this is essential as we continue to pay the cost of the pandemic and in order to bring us closer to the rest of the league.

“In some places our ticket prices last year were less than half of the average price in the National League North.

“For a club like Spennymoor Town, that is simply not sustainable.

“We can live in the real world with our finances and still make football affordable.  That is what we have done with this year’s pricing.

“Our supporters have been a credit to the club in recent years.  They have supported us when we needed it most and I would like to think that our commitment to making it affordable to watch this club go some way to repaying them for their support.

“Next season will be an exciting one, where we once again aim to compete for promotion.  There will be a lot of change and Anthony and Bernard’s first proper Spennymoor side will be one to enjoy watching and which will deliver results.”
