Preview: Hereford v Moors

Hereford v Spennymoor Town
Saturday 6th August 2022, 3pm
National League North
Edgar Street

In Opposition
Hereford finished 12th in National League North last term, celebrating their highest position since the club was reformed – and they will be hoping to build on that progress during 2022/23.

Now under the watch of former Bournemouth and Gillingham defender Josh Gowling, The Bulls raised £50,000 to help boost their playing budget with a Squad Builder campaign that ran throughout the summer.

Chairman, Jon Hale, has admitted that the funds raised by supporters has helped propel the club to the next level and provide Gowling with a more robust transfer kitty to improve his squad.

On the back of a more settled and productive pre-season than 12 months ago, there is real optimism around Hereford that Gowling’s side can enjoy a successful campaign.

One To Watch
Experienced front man Tyrone Barnett joined Hereford during the summer following his departure from Eastleigh and is expected to be a key man for The Bulls during 2022/23.

Having played as high as the Championship in the past, the 36-year-old brings vast know-how to Hereford’s attacking line-up ahead of the new campaign.

Barnett struck 31 goals for The Spitfires over the last three seasons, and it’s hoped that keen eye for goal can help give The Bulls the cutting edge they are looking for in National League North.

On The Whistle
Liam Corbett will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s encounter between Moors and Hereford at Edgar Street.

The official has been operating across National League North and South since 2018/19 so is now entering into his sixth campaign at this level.
