Preview: Moors v Hereford

We turn our attentions to the weekend’s action with our comprehensive preview of Hereford’s National League North visit to The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v Hereford
National League North
Saturday 9th September 2023, 3pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Hereford head for County Durham with a sense of renewed confidence after earning a dramatic late 2-1 win over Chester at The Deva Stadium in midweek.

The Bulls looked set to suffer a fifth successive defeat when trailing 1-0 with just six minutes remaining on Tuesday before goals from Lasana Mendes and Aurio Teixeira turned the game on its head.

Boss Paul Caddis, who was appointed at the end of last season, oversaw an encouraging start when they picked up seven points from the first available 12.

Now he will be hoping that their victory at Chester can be the springboard for them to return to their best form and more positive results in the coming weeks.

Previous Meeting
Moors kicked-off last season at Edgar Street in astonishing fashion as the two sides played out a captivating 3-3 draw in the opening day sunshine.

However, the three points stayed in the North East when Hereford visited The Brewery Field for the return fixture at the end of January as Paul Blackett fired the only goal in a dramatic 1-0 win.

Team News
Mark Anderson remains sidelined with ankle ligament damage, while Michael Ledger is nursing a hamstring problem and Connor Shanks will hope to shake off a back injury in time to feature.

Match Officials
David Jones will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s big game against The Bulls and he will be assisted by Michael Burrows and Macauley Gibson.
