Moors Team Up With Her Game Too

Spennymoor Town are delighted to announce a new partnership with Her Game Too, which aims to raise awareness of sexist abuse within the realms of football.

Moors join a number of clubs from the non-league, the EFL and beyond to commit to the cause, creating further awareness to the problems faced in football by females.

HerGameToo was founded by 12 passionate female football fans who are committed to growing the campaign with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally.

The non-profit organisation aims to create awareness, educate, research, develop a strong sense of community and create strong relationships with clubs, among much more.

Further aims include creating regular content to champion women in football (players, staff and fans), creating strong relationships with club trusts and communities, having a presence at football grounds and sports bars to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and women as well as continuing to campaign against sexism in football and online abuse.

“The work that has been done by HerGameToo to shine a light on the issues women can face in football is incredible and we’re delighted to get involved,” explained the Club’s Managing Director, Ian Geldard.

“We want everyone to know that The Brewery Field is an inclusive and welcoming place for everyone to come and enjoy their football and this partnership is another big stride for the Club.

“It’s been brilliant to see that the tremendous success of Moors Ladies in the last couple of seasons has brought more female supporters of all ages into the stadium.

“We are extremely keen to encourage that and engage more with the women and girls who support Spennymoor Town and hopefully this partnership with HerGameToo can help us do that.”
