Preview: Chorley v Moors

We turn the focus on Tuesday’s action with a full and in-depth preview of Moors’ National League North visit to Victory Park.

Chorley v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Tuesday 13th February 2024, 7.45pm
Victory Park

The Opposition
Chorley have dropped outside of the play-off position in recent weeks but do still have games in hand on all the teams above them having played only six times in the league since the turn of the year.

The Magpies were knocked out of the FA Trophy at the hands of Solihull Moors at the weekend but that was just their second defeat in their last 11 games on home soil in all competitions.

Andy Preece’s men know that victory over Moors would be enough to catapult them up to sixth place in National League North as they look to return to the fifth tier for the first time since 2020.

Previous Meeting
Chorley returned home with all three points on Boxing Day after they ran out 2-0 winners at The Brewery Field on Boxing Day, though Moors did have a goal disallowed and missed a penalty.

Team News
Glen Taylor remains sidelined with a knee problem, but Owen Gallacher is closing in on a return after being on the sidelines since dislocating his shoulder at Hereford just before Christmas.

New signing Brad James is eligible to play after the goalkeeper put pen to paper on a permanent deal with the Club last week following his departure from Middlesbrough.

Match Officials
Matthew Scholes will be on the whistle for Tuesday evening’s encounter at Victory Park, and he will be assisted by Joe Cunnigham and Matthew Moss.

Tickets
Moors fans who attended the original fixture at Victory Park at the end of December can gain access as a concessionary rate of £5, while regular adult tickets are priced at £10.

These can be bought in advance online or on the day of the game from Chorley’s Ticket Office.
