We turn the spotlight on Tuesday evening’s action with a full and in-depth preview of Moors’ National League North visit to The RDA Stadium.
Bishop’s Stortford v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Tuesday 27th February 2024, 7.45pm
The RDA Stadium
The Opposition
Bishop’s Stortford are sitting bottom of the National League North table ahead of Tuesday’s game and bidding to end a run of nine consecutive league defeats.
The Blues last picked up points when they won 2-0 at Darlington just before Christmas, though they did have some joy in the FA Trophy when they thumped Aldershot Town 6-1 last month.
As a result of their disappointing run of form, the Essex outfit have fallen 19 points shy of safety in what is their first season at this level after winning the Isthmian League Premier Division title last term.
Steve Smith’s side have also had to battle the elements in recent weeks as rain has rendered their pitch unplayable and Tuesday evening’s game will be their first at home since the end of January.
Previous Meeting
A Ryan Charles own goal just before half time was enough to separate the sides when Bishop’s Stortford made their trip to The Brewery Field back in August.
Team News
Mika Ndjoli looks set to miss the trip after injuring his hamstring in Saturday’s draw at Chester, while Ben Pollock will be assessed after sustaining an ankle injury in the game.
Owen Gallacher could return to the matchday squad after missing out at the weekend through illness, while the fixture is likely to come too soon for striker Glen Taylor who is now approaching fitness after a knee operation.
Match Officials
Eugene Robinson will be the man in the middle for the National League North encounter at The RDA Stadium on Tuesday night, and he will be assisted by Joshua Evans and Craig Charles.
