Ian Clark has admitted his determination to go one better next season after it was confirmed that he and Graeme Lee would remain in charge at The Brewery Field into 2024/24.
Along with Lee, Assistant Manager Clark and Goalkeeper Coach Dan Wilson have now all agreed extended stays with Moors after arriving at the Club at the turn of the year.
Under their watch, the team underwent a remarkable upturn in form as they climbed from just above the drop zone to within a single point of sneaking into the play-offs on the final day.
A run of nine consecutive home victories underlined the incredible turnaround which has sparked real optimism among supporters for what is to come in the fresh campaign.
Now Clark has insisted that efforts will be redoubled as he and the staff focus on ensuring that the momentum built up over the last four months is built upon when the new season begins.
“I’m absolutely over the moon to have signed for another year to work alongside Spike,” Clark told us.
“This is an amazing club with amazing support and the backing that everyone has shown us since we came in has been first class.
“The players responded last season so well and to miss out on the play-offs by such a small margin was disappointing.
“Hopefully we have created an environment for them to enjoy playing their football and a platform to go out on the pitch and show what they’re capable of.
“We’ve got some momentum now and we need to build on that by continuing with the work we have done since we arrived at the Club.
“I believe continuity is vital and, while we are thankful to be given the opportunity, we are also realistic enough to know that it all starts again from now.
“Every team begins on the same number of points so we have to bring everything we did last season and more, and hopefully that will help us deliver the success that this Club deserves.
“One thing is for sure – Spike, Dan and I will work as hard as we can to achieve what we all crave, and it won’t be for the want of trying.”
