Shannon Reed Makes Moors Ladies Return

Moors Ladies have completed another shrewd signing ahead of their new campaign by confirming the return of influential midfielder Shannon Reed.

The skilful midfield star made 26 appearances for the Club during the 2023/24 season, scoring two memorable long-range goals and chipping in with 10 assists.

Reed spent last term in the National League with Norton & Stockton Ancients but has now been persuaded to come back for a second spell at The Brewery Field.

As well as providing a creative spark in the Moors’ engine room, Reed is also blessed with a huge competitive streak and will add bite to the middle of the pitch.

“I am delighted that Shannon is coming back to the Club this season,” admitted Moors Ladies boss Stephen Durrant.

“Her ability and experience of a higher level will add significantly to our squad going into the 2025/26 and we’re excited to see her back out there in a black and white shirt.”

Reed added: “I’m really pleased to be back because Spennymoor Town has one of the best set-ups around for women’s football.

“I know quite a lot of the girls in the squad already from my previous time at the Club and I get on really well with them all so I am excited to get started in the new season.”

Reed is now set to make her second debut for Moors when they take on their Reserves in a pre-season friendly staged at The Brewery Field on Thursday evening.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm, entry for all fans is completely free and Chicken Ting will be open for business in the Fan Zone if you want grab some food while you enjoy the action.
