Moors Ladies have completed their ninth signing of the summer after American midfielder Jackie Zapata arrived at The Brewery Field.

New boss Stephen Durrant has been busy assembling his squad ahead of the new NERWFL Premier Division which begins this Sunday with a trip to Ponteland United.

His latest recruit, Zapata has been playing for the renowned i2i Academy whilst at university and is now ready to show what she can do in a Moors shirt during 2025/26.

“We’re really pleased to get Jackie on board,” explained Durrant.

“She’s gained some good experience while playing for i2i and is now the second player from America to join our squad for the new season.

“We’re pleased with the players we’ve been able to bring to the Club during the summer and now all eyes will turn to the first game at Ponteland this weekend.”

“After my time with i2i Academy I am eager to get going and push myself,” added Zapata.

“Spennymoor feels like the perfect place for me to take the next step and I am really looking forward to playing my part in what I know will be an exciting season.”
