Moors could move to within one point of league leaders AFC Fylde this evening as the two meet for the third time this campaign.
Spennymoor got the edge on The Coasters in the Emirates FA Cup in September, claiming a 1-0 replay win at The Brewery Field following a 1-1 draw at Mill Farm.
Jim Bentley’s side come into tonight’s clash on the back of their first league defeat of the season, with James Hanson’s early goal for Farsley Celtic condemning Fylde to a 1-0 loss.
For 80 minutes it seemed guaranteed that Spennymoor would bridge the gap to two points on the leaders against Curzon Ashton on Saturday, but late goals from Jack McKay and Matthew Waters stalled a four game winning streak.
Despite that late set back, Moors remain the in-form team in the division over the previous five games, claiming 13 points from a possible 15.
New addition Aaron Cunningham is available for tonight’s fixture, with decisions still to be made on the fitness of James Curtis, John Lufudu and Carl Magnay.
